Developing a self-care routing is extremely beneficial to your self-esteem and there are many ways in which you can do this. Below are a few ways that have benefited me and I am sure they will for you too.
1/ MORNING ROUTINE
Getting up at the same time every morning always makes me feel more in control of my day.
I get up at 8 am every morning and I make my bed straight away. Then I will have a healthy breakfast, which consists of a Herbalife meal replacement shake. After my breakfast I will jump in the shower, get dressed and brush my teeth. By 9 am I am ready to tackle the day ahead.
Eating the right food is so important but we can fall into the trap of comfort eating when we are not taking care of ourselves properly. That is why I have my Herbalife shakes twice a day: one in the morning and one in the afternoon. If I need a snack I reach for fruit or low fat vegan yoghurt.
When we start to fuel our bodies with a healthy diet, we start to maintain an ideal weight and feel better within ourselves.
Taking time in the day to stop and listen to your breathing helps you to be more in the present. There is a wonderful app called CALM that introduces you to simple meditations at your own pace.
4/ ENJOY NATURE
Getting out amongst nature is great for keeping you grounded. Even if it is just a short walk around your local park, it will do wonders for your mental well being.
5/ SHOW GRATITUDE
Being grateful for the little things in life helps you appreciate how lucky you are, even if at times we don’t feel so good about ourselves.
I love writing in my gratitude journal every evening before I go to bed. It really helps me to have a peaceful nights sleep.
